National Legislative Committee

The WateReuse Association has a strong federal advocacy program under the leadership of the National Legislative Committee. The Committee tracks relevant water legislation and policy issues, supports bills of importance to members, and maintains close contact with Congress and federal agencies. The Association also lobbies for funding to support water reuse and desalination research.

National Regulatory Committee

There are no federal regulations governing water reuse in the United States. Regulations are developed and implemented at the state government level. The Association’s National Regulatory Committee monitors state regulations and advocates for consistent policies that promote the safe and efficient use of water supplies.
