STARS OF THE FUTURE COMING TO HOLLYWOOD
21st Annual WateReuse Symposium to Focus on Water Reuse and Desalination
ALEXANDRIA, VA – The latest information on water reuse and desalination applications, technologies, health and safety, funding, and legislative and regulatory activities will be on display September 10-13, 2006 at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, CA during the 21st Annual WateReuse Symposium. The theme is Stars of the Future: Reuse and Desalination.
Presented by the WateReuse Association and cosponsored by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the Water Environment Federation (WEF), this year’s Symposium features a record 123 presentations, four facility tours, four panel discussions, two receptions, an awards luncheon, and an exhibit hall. Technical sessions will be devoted to stimulating and diverse topics such as micropollutants, desalination, indirect potable reuse, operational issues, and global water reuse.
“As the only national conference devoted exclusively to water reuse and desalination, the Annual WateReuse Symposium provides a unique opportunity for water professionals to network, exchange ideas, and find solutions to obstacles encountered in water reuse and desalination projects,” said WateReuse Association Executive Director Wade Miller.
Invited speakers for the opening session include California Senator Diane Feinstein and Congressman Jerry Lewis. The program will also feature WEF President J. Michael Read, AWWA President Andrew Richardson, and WateReuse Association President Pick Talley.
Known for being the center of glamour and activity since the early days of film, Hollywood is where the stars come out and play! It is also where two future stars – water reuse and desalination – will be featured as alternative sources in today’s water-scarce world.
