New RFPs to be Released

The Foundation will release three new Requests for Proposals (RFPs) this fall for projects under the Solicited Research program.

WRF-08-03: Investigation of Social, Environmental, Natural and Other Informational Factors that Influence Judgments and Decisions about Water Reuse

This project aims to advance understanding about how knowledge and images, marked by positive or negative affective feelings, guide public judgment and decision making regarding water reuse.  The result of the work is intended to be a comprehensive document that combines insight into theories about public resistance to water reuse with the practical aspects of successful cases.

WRF-08-04: Approaches to Maintain Consistently High Quality Reclaimed Water in Storage and Distribution Systems

Maintaining high quality recycled water at the point of use is imperative to successful recycled water programs and the future growth of recycled water programs. This research would provide understanding of water quality degradation in recycled water distribution systems and recommend treatment and distribution system operations changes that would maintain high quality recycled water at point of use.

WRF-08-09: The Value of Water Supply Reliability in the Residential Sector

The objective of this study is to more accurately characterize the value of changes in water supply reliability to residential users through the application of relevant economic valuation techniques, relying on advanced statistical analysis of residential stated preference data collected via state-of-the-art survey methods.
