Legislative/Regulatory Committee
Since 1990, the Association has successfully advocated the passage of 36 laws in California that have dramatically improved the climate for water recycling through:
- promoting the safe use of recycled water for a variety of purposes;
- developing new and improved water recycling technologies;
- streamlining water recycling regulations;
- increasing the availability of state and federal funding for water recycling;
- enhancing the public's awareness and understanding of water recycling; and
- ensuring that California's water recycling laws and regulations are applied fairly and uniformly.
The Legislative/Regulatory Committee reviews, analyzes and recommends positions to the California Section on state legislation that affects the goals and objectives of the Section and its membership. Directs the Section's lobbyist and leads all California Section activity in the state regulatory arena.
