Formation of a State Section in Florida
Florida's state section was approved by the Board of Directors of the Water Reuse Association on December 14, 2006. The state section is known as WateReuse Florida and commenced operation on January 4, 2007 with formal adoption of the Bylaws.
WateReuse Florida also maintains the Florida Recycles Water website.
The primary objectives of WateReuse Florida are to encourage and promote reuse in Florida and promote the mission of the Association.
Florida Water Reuse Trail
WateReuse Florida, the FWEA Water Reuse Committee, and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection have joined together to develop the Florida Water Reuse Trail -- a route around and through Florida that will feature exemplary water reuse projects. Individuals, utilities, and organizations are invited to nominate outstanding water reuse projects for inclusion on the Florida Water Reuse Trail. Selection will be competitive using criteria contained in the application package. Mark McNeal (ASRus) chairs the Water Reuse Trail Committee.
